Brains & Brawn - The David and Daniel Series by D.A. Mackey

So firstly I should say this is one of my favorite reads.  In fact I have read it twice.  I first bought Part 1: The Boston Chronicles, Books 1-5 as one book.  Then Part 2: High School Days, and I was hooked and then bought the whole lot in one book.  I liked it that much and wanted to read without opening new Parts.  It reads beautifully as one long book.

Brains & Brawn - The David and Daniel Series by D.A. Mackey
Link above is for all 4 Parts:
Part 1: The Boston Chronicles - 5 books
Part 2: High School Days - 5 books
Part 3: Nearly Free - 4 books
Part 4: Dog Days or Summer - 4 Books
- it is worth the purchase as one long full book!

Verdict - Something has to be said firstly about Mackey's writing style.  He is a gifted story teller and develops the plot, character and situation events seamlessly with his beguiling writing style.  He defines clear character characteristics and portrays them consistently throughout the book. I can’t sound more corny if I tried, but the characters really do feel as if they are coming to life as you read them.  The end of each book leaves you wanting to know what happens next.  No Spoilers here.  But you want to read on.  Okay this is getting bit gushy!  But when you read a story told so eloquently it deserves little bias sucking up!The books/chapters also never fail to deliver a man on man action and the descriptions, the scenes, emotions, changing physiques, and the added characters all add more and more to the rich story line and desire for it to never end!   Stop reading this, and go read the book, at least Part 1, you will be hooked.

Plot - Best ever all American High School gay lifestyle storytelling. Yep, I liked it.
Graphic - Very much, one for the wank bank!
Length - Each book of  which there are 18 about 40m/1hr - perfect before bedtime!

Synopsis - On the night of his 18th Birthday, self proclaimed nerd, David, finds himself stranded at the airport with his flight to Boston cancelled. The Regional Speech and Debate tournament he and his classmates were headed to looks like it’s going to become a useless trip. And then, he gets placed in a room with Daniel, one of the most popular boys at school, a jock, and captain of the baseball team.

In that first night they spent together, neither Daniel nor David could ever have realized that they would soon begin a journey together – a journey of exploration and new vistas, surprises and revelations.

They will grow close, face fear and trepidation. They could be exposed at any moment.

Though Daniel invited David to join his Jock World with an administrative position on the Baseball team and David’s station at school begins to shift in mysterious ways…everything changes on Prom Night.

Confronted by Daniel’s girlfriend Amy, everything that David and Daniel have become stands on the edge of a cliff. But Daniel is Daniel and together, the two boys leap into the unknown. They fall in love. They graduate. They spend the summer together and then the specter of separation looms on the horizon. College is coming.

Can David and Daniel overcome that as they had overcome so much else?
